Buying your way out of jail

By Ryan Wells

So you’ve committed a crime? I have absolutely no idea what crime you might have committed, but if you’re ever in the situation where you end up in jail, what I’m about to help you could greatly help you. To get yourself released from jail before your court hearing, you’re going to need to get someone to post bail for you. Now you might not have any friends, at which point it becomes a bit more difficult; you may not have any family that you can call upon, which makes it even more difficult. Either way, you’re going to need to find someone who can trust you, and you can trust, to post bail for you. They will be becoming the indemnitor of the Florida bail bond, and will have to take on a huge responsibility whilst also spending quite a bit of money initially. If you’ve never heard of this sort of thing, it might interest you to know that the indemnitor often has to pay a deposit of tens of thousands of dollars in order to get an arrestee released from jail; that’s a huge amount of money and one which you shouldn’t take lightly.

If you do find someone who is willing to help you, you’ll need to get them to talk to a bail bond agency that will be able to put up the full amount of money required by the judge. The agency will ask for a 10% deposit following a process during which they will find out as much as possible about both you and the indemnitor. The process can take a matter of hours if all information is provided quickly, and there are no problems. Once the Florida bail bond has been signed, it is just a matter of waiting for the judge to release you from jail. You will have conditions that have to be fulfilled in order to keep your bail valid; these are generally court dates when you must appear, but could also be things like counseling or therapy. It is important you fulfill these conditions, because failure to do so will lead to the bail being forfeited and will cost the indemnitor the full amount of the bail.
